Australian luge representative Hannah Campbell-Pegg has decided to auction her Olympic race suit, worn during her competition runs at the the Vancouver 2010 Games, to raise some money for the family of Georgian athlete Nodar Kumaritashvili. Kumaritashvili was killed in a training accident on February 12, the day of the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
The 27-year-old was looking for a way to not only honour Kumaritashvili’s memory but also make a small gesture so that his family knew that he had had a positive impact on others and will be missed. The suit has been signed by Campbell-Pegg and will be professionally framed with photographs of her in the suit during competition at Vancouver 2010.
To bid for Hannah Campbell-Pegg’s signed 2010 Olympic Luge Race Suit, go to eBay.com.au and search Hannah Campbell-Pegg or the item under the Memorabilia section. The auction closes at midnight on Monday March 1.
